Part 35947A is the front axle for Eureka and Sanitaire commercial and household uprights, the metal rod the front wheel assembly rides on. It is a different part from the wheel itself, and it is worth checking before replacing a wheel that still looks fine but wobbles.
An axle bends or wears at the bushing contact points from years of the machine being tipped back, dropped off a curb edge, or dragged over a threshold. Once it is out of true, the front wheels sit unevenly even with new wheels installed, the nozzle rides crooked across the floor, and the machine pulls to one side as it is pushed. If a wheel change did not fix a wobble, this axle is usually the reason.

The axle presses out of the old wheel mounts and into the new ones with basic hand tools. Check the wheel bushings for wear at the same time, since a worn bushing on a straight axle produces the same symptom.
Because a bent axle and a worn wheel produce nearly identical symptoms at first glance, a rocking or wobbling front end, it is worth pulling the wheel off and rolling the axle across a flat surface before ordering either part.
