Product details

This complete suction hose assembly from Perfect Fit Hoses is built for the Eureka 2971 and 2981 upright vacuums, shipping with the cuffs already molded into place so no splicing or adapters are needed at install. It carries airflow from the vacuum body up through the wand to whatever attachment is connected.

These hoses tend to give out gradually: the cuff seal loosens first from repeated flexing, and a crack can open further along the body if the leak goes unaddressed. Either failure shows up the same way at the wand, where a crevice tool or upholstery nozzle pulls noticeably less than it should even though the rest of the machine sounds normal.

Because the loose-cuff stage often comes well before an outright crack, catching weak attachment suction early and checking the cuffs first can save you from a bigger repair down the line. A quick way to test is to flex the hose gently near each cuff while the vacuum runs and listen for a change in suction sound at that spot.

Eureka built these two numbers in several trim variations, so read the model number off the rating plate rather than going by the machine's colour or badge, then confirm it is a 2971 or a 2981 before ordering. Other Eureka uprights took different hose lengths and cuff styles, and a hose sized for one generation will not seat correctly on another.

  • Part type: Complete hose assembly with molded end cuffs
  • Common failure signs: loose cuff seal, developing crack, weak attachment suction
