Commercial Sanitaire uprights take their power through a short pigtail cord rather than a full-length one, and this is the 2-wire pigtail and its cord lock, part 1625959. It fits the SC5845D, SC5815E and SC5713D, sold under both the Sanitaire and Eureka names.
Cords die where they bend. The strain relief at the machine and the few inches behind the plug take every yank and every wrap, and once the jacket splits you get exposed strands, a machine that cuts out when the cord is nudged, and a genuine shock hazard on a damp floor. The cord lock matters just as much: a lock that has lost its grip lets the pigtail pull part way out under load.
Unplug the machine before starting, and fit the new lock along with the cord so the pigtail is retained the way the original was.
