Ametek Lamb Vacuum Motor To...

Product details
Part LF-1 sits on top of an Ametek Lamb vacuum motor, the last piece of filtration between the motor's fan chamber and the air leaving the housing. Lamb motors are used across many vacuum brands, so this filter is sold by motor fit rather than by a single machine model.
A motor-top filter has one job: stop fine dust and carbon brush debris from recirculating through the motor once it has already passed the main filtration stages upstream. When it packs down, airflow through the motor drops, which the motor answers by running hotter and louder than normal. Left in place too long, that restriction shortens the working life of the motor it is protecting, since heat is the primary reason vacuum motors fail early.
Because it sits directly on the motor rather than in the dust path, this filter rarely gets checked during a routine cleaning of the dust cup or bag compartment. Pulling the top cover and looking at it once or twice a year, especially if the machine has started sounding different, catches wear that would otherwise go unnoticed until the motor itself is affected.
- Part: LF-1
- Position: top of an Ametek Lamb motor
- Function: final filtration before motor exhaust
- Change when: the motor sounds louder or runs hotter than usual, roughly every 6 to 12 months
Since Lamb motors are built in several diameters, verify this filter's size against your unit's part diagram before ordering.
