Oreck Filter Large - Air Response WK16002PC

AK46002 is Oreck's Type B3 replacement kit for the large Air Response purifier, the WK16002. The kit is a year of media rather than a single filter: one HEPA filter plus two odor filters.

Oreck built the Air Response in three sizes and sized the media to the cabinet rather than sharing it across the line. The WK16000 is the small unit and the WK16001 the medium, and neither takes this kit. Matching by unit model is more reliable than matching by appearance, since the filters look alike and differ only in the dimensions that decide whether one seats.

A purifier gives no warning when its media is loaded. Airflow falls as the filter fills while the fan keeps turning at the same speed, so the unit sounds unchanged while it treats less air. Odor that lingers, or dust returning to surfaces at close to its old rate, is the practical signal, and the darkened face of the filter confirms it.

Two odor filters against one HEPA filter is a hint at the intended rhythm. The carbon stage is meant to be changed partway through the HEPA filter's year rather than alongside it, so a household with cooking or pet smells will work through the odor filters first while the HEPA behind them still has service left.
