Two filters in one set, part 1604896: a foam filter and a felt filter, which between them make up the filtration on a Bissell PowerForce Compact. They work as a pair, and replacing one without the other is a half-repair.

Both load with fine dust and both restrict airflow well before they look dirty enough to bother with. A machine running on tired filters pulls poorly at the head, sounds strained, and pushes warm, dusty air out of the exhaust. Rinsing buys time; foam eventually goes brittle and felt packs solid.

The set fits the PowerForce Compact 1520 and 2112 series, the PowerForce Compact Turbo 2690 and the CleanView Compact 3508. Wash both in warm water and let them dry all the way through before refitting, because a damp filter smells within a day and chokes airflow worse than dust does.
