Bissell's DeepClean Essential machines run two belts, and this flat one drives the solution pump. Part 1601543 replaces it, one belt per pack.

A pump belt that has stretched or snapped leaves a machine that still scrubs and still sucks but puts no solution on the carpet, and that combination fools plenty of people into buying a pump. Pull the belt cover first. A belt lying loose in the housing, or one you can lift well clear of its pulley, is the whole problem.

It fits the DeepClean Essential 8852, 88522, 8852R and 8852T, the ProHeat Essential 88523, 88524, 1887 and 18872, and the 1200R, 1210 and 9585. Fit the new one with the pulley faces clean and dry, because dried solution residue will make even a fresh flat belt slip.
