This base plate, part KC03RDKNZV07, is a replacement bottom plate listed for Kenmore canister power nozzles of the auto reset type.

The base plate closes up the underside of the power nozzle, and it takes the brunt of everyday contact with furniture legs and doorways. A cracked or warped plate no longer holds the underside of the nozzle flat against the floor, and once its mounting points break the plate stops sitting square on the housing at all.

Power nozzle base plates are not interchangeable between designs even when they look close, so match the auto reset designation and your power nozzle's full model number against the machine's parts diagram before ordering. Setting the old plate beside the replacement is the surest check.
