Part AMC10A-X0Z00 is the OEM furniture guard, the bumper strip that wraps around the body of a Panasonic MC-7310 canister, and it replaces the original whenever it is cracked, hardened, or missing entirely.
A canister spends its working life being towed around blind corners and into furniture it cannot see coming, which makes this bumper the single most abused part on the entire machine over time. It tends to fail in one of two distinct ways: the material hardens with age until it finally splits, usually right at a corner where the flex is greatest, or its fixings let go one at a time until the strip hangs loose before eventually dropping off altogether. Either failure mode leaves the bare plastic housing making direct contact with whatever the machine bumps into next, where the padded edge used to absorb that impact instead.
The scuff marks left behind on woodwork and furniture often show up well before anyone traces the cause back to a missing or hardened bumper, since a bare plastic edge does not look obviously wrong at a glance the way a snapped part usually does.
Fitting the replacement guard back into its original position around the body takes only a few minutes, and doing so costs a good deal less than having scuffed trim or furniture touched up afterward.
