Handle release pedal for the Hoover WindTunnel MAX and related uprights, part 440013591, in the silver metallic finish. It replaces Hoover 521048002 and 521048001, and fits the UH30600, UH70601, UH70603, UH70605, UH70607 and UH70608, the UH70202, UH70130 and UH70140, the UH70700, and the UH71230, UH71250 and UH71251.
The pedal is what your foot presses to drop the handle back, and it takes a hard, off-axis kick several times per room for years. They crack across the pedal face or shear at the pivot, and the machine is left locked bolt upright, which sounds like a minor annoyance right up until you try to vacuum under a bed with it.
A replacement restores the original travel and spring feel. Check the pivot and the return while the old one is off.
