Product details

Handles fail on central vacuum hoses well before the hose body itself wears out, and this Plastiflex repair kit, part HD130EFR02, rebuilds that end. It includes the button lock but leaves out the switch, matching hoses whose handle never carried one to begin with.

The handle takes the abuse on a central vac hose: dropped, stepped on, twisted at odd angles mid-clean. The plastic splits near the cuff joint, the button lock quits holding so the wand slides free mid-pass, or the swivel starts binding up. None of that means the hose itself is done; the tubing usually still has plenty of life left, and rebuilding the end is a smaller job than replacing the whole hose. Check the tubing along its length before deciding, a hose that has also gone stiff or split behind the cuff is past the point where a new handle end will bring it back.

Confirm what your current handle has before ordering. This kit comes button-lock with no switch included, so a handle with a built-in on/off switch calls for the switched version instead.

Test the button lock a few times by hand before putting the wand back into regular use. A lock that feels stiff right out of the box usually frees up after a few cycles, while one that never catches at all is worth checking again before calling the repair finished.
