Bissell's Eraser hand vacuum pulls everything it picks up through this HEPA media filter, sold as part 97D5. It is the genuine Bissell filter for the 33A1 and 33A1B Eraser, and the same filter serves the 37U6E and 47R5B.
A hand vac holds so little air that a loaded filter shows up fast. Suction fades within seconds of switching on, the motor pitch rises as it strains against the restriction, and a grey mat of fine dust sits visibly across the pleats. Cleaning it buys a little time; the media never comes back to full flow once dust is embedded in it.
Swap it when suction drops off or the surface stops looking clean — every few months under regular use. Seat the new filter fully in its housing before closing the dirt cup, or dust bypasses it and reaches the motor.
