Product details
Part 2032093 identifies Bissell's Style 20 HEPA filter, mounted on the exhaust side of the PROlite 17G5 upright. Positioned as the final stage before that air rejoins the room, it carries more weight in a home with pets or an allergy sufferer than a spec sheet would suggest.
Like any HEPA element, this one accumulates rather than resets, and no amount of rinsing brings it back to new. As it nears the end of useful service, the earliest sign is reduced airflow: pickup off the carpet weakens and the machine sounds like it is working against something. Only later does a faint dusty note start escaping through the exhaust. Most households see six to twelve months between changes, less in a home that runs the vacuum often.
- Part: 2032093, Style 20 HEPA filter
- Fits: Bissell PROlite 17G5 and Bissell 2354
- Do not wash: rinsing does not restore lost filtration
- Replace: on a six to twelve month cycle, shorter if the vacuum sees frequent use
Match the style number on the filter coming out of the machine rather than judging the part by its looks, since a filter of similar size and shape is not necessarily the same style. If that number is no longer legible, the model number on the machine itself is the more dependable thing to check against, and it is worth writing down before the old filter goes in the bin. Note the orientation of the old filter as it comes out, too. One put back the wrong way round will not sit against its housing the way it should, and air takes an unsealed edge over clean media every time, even though the vacuum will still run as though nothing is wrong.
