Hoover Headlight Socket

Product details
A headlight that has gone dark is not always a dead bulb. This is the headlight socket for the Hoover 918, part 011154, the holder that grips the bulb and carries current to it.
Sockets fail by corroding or burning at the contact, and the symptoms give it away: a bulb that lights when you press on it, a headlight that flickers as the machine is pushed, or a brand-new bulb that does nothing at all. Look inside a failed socket and the contact is usually blackened, or the spring has lost its tension.
The new socket restores a clean, tight connection, and with it the light on the floor ahead of the nozzle, which matters more than people expect on dark carpet. Unplug the machine first: this is a live circuit.
