Hoover Brush Roll - BH53800V Evolve Pet

This brush roll is the agitator in Hoover's Evolve Pet Elite uprights, supplied as part 440015675.

Pet hair is what these machines are bought for, and pet hair is what wears the roll out. Hair winds around the shaft and the bristle rows, loading the bearings and dragging on the belt, and the bristles themselves shorten until they no longer reach into the pile. The result is a machine that looks like it is working, since the roll still turns, while the carpet keeps its embedded hair and the traffic lanes stay flat.

A roll with full bristles bites into the pile again, and it releases wound hair more easily when you clear it. It fits the Hoover BH53800V, BH53801V and BH53840VCD. Cut hair off the shaft ends regularly, as that is the maintenance that decides how long the new roll lasts.
