Product details

Foot pad for the Hoover U7079 upright, part 38426071. It is the pad on the underside of the base that the machine rests on when it stands upright or tips back on its heel.

Once the pad wears through or falls off, the bare mounting point is what meets your floor. On hardwood and laminate that means scuff marks and small dents at exactly the spot the vacuum gets parked; on any surface it means the machine rocks slightly instead of standing flat, which is enough to make a tall upright feel unstable when you let go of the handle.

The replacement fits into the same recess in the base. It is a two-minute job that costs a great deal less than refinishing a floor, and worth doing as soon as you notice the vacuum has started to sit unevenly.
