Handle retainer cover for Hoover uprights, part 37258177, fitting the U5262910, U5265900 and U5269900. It caps the joint where the handle meets the body and keeps the retention hardware underneath out of sight and out of the dust.

The cover takes every knock the handle takes. Once it splits or goes missing, grit packs into the retainer, and the handle develops the small amount of play that turns into a rattle and then into a joint that will not lock upright. Owners tend to notice the wobble long before they connect it to a missing piece of plastic.

Fit is direct, seating where the original did. It is worth inspecting the retainer itself for wear while the cover is off, because a worn retainer will keep the handle loose no matter how good the new cover looks.
