This is the curved hose end from a Hoover electric hose, part 43468055: the moulded elbow at the machine end that carries both the airflow and the electrical contacts for a powered nozzle.
It fails mechanically and electrically at the same time. The curve is where the hose is bent hardest every time the machine is used, so the moulding cracks at the shoulder while the wiring inside the cuff fatigues. The symptoms follow from that: a power nozzle that cuts out when the hose is turned a certain way, a whistle at the joint, or a cuff that no longer locks and pulls free mid-clean.
It fits Hoover S3000-series canisters including the S3057, S3093, S3127, S3181, S3191 and S3199, the S3201 through S3245, and the S3261 through S3271 along with the S3399.
