Product details

Nozzle base for the Hoover U4707 Clean & Light upright, part 513175009. It is also listed for the Hoover U4730 and the Royal RY6400.

The nozzle base is the lower housing the brush roll sits in and the surface that rides on the carpet. Wear here changes the geometry the machine cleans with. The brush no longer sits at the right height, the airflow across the opening is disturbed, and pickup goes uneven from one side of the head to the other. Damaged brush roll supports also let the roll wobble, and a wobbling roll eats belts.

Move your brush roll and belt over once the new base is fitted, then turn the roll by hand and check it spins freely before the machine goes back on the floor.
