Need to return an item? We’re happy to help. Eligible items may be returned by requesting authorization within 35 days of delivery. Once approved, your return must reach us within 21 days.
Return eligibility
Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.
Shipping and refunds
For non-defective returns, customers cover return shipping. Original shipping charges are nonrefundable. If your order included free shipping, our actual outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. Eligible returns have no restocking fee.

Part AH40140 is the pre-motor filter for the Hoover CH50100 and CH50102, supplied packaged and ready to fit.
Its job is to catch what gets past the bag before the air reaches the motor. That makes it the cheapest insurance on the machine, because a motor is the expensive part and fine dust is what wears the bearings and loads the armature. It also means the filter takes the brunt of any bag that has been overfilled or split.
The symptom of a neglected one is a machine that seems to have lost interest: suction that was fine last month is soft now, the bag is not full, the hose is clear, and the motor sounds strained. Pull the filter and you will usually find it grey all the way through. Change it on a schedule rather than on symptoms, and always after a bag has burst. It seats in the original housing on the CH50100 and CH50102.
