Returns & Exchanges

Need to return an item? We’re happy to help. Eligible items may be returned by requesting authorization within 35 days of delivery. Once approved, your return must reach us within 21 days.

Return eligibility

Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.

Shipping and refunds

For non-defective returns, customers cover return shipping. Original shipping charges are nonrefundable. If your order included free shipping, our actual outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. Eligible returns have no restocking fee.

This genuine Hoover pre-filter cage screen is designed for the U5298 upright vacuum (Part #36426043). The cage screen is the perforated support that holds the pre-filter in shape and acts as a coarse first barrier, keeping the filter media positioned correctly in the airflow path on your U5298.

When the cage screen cracks, deforms, or clogs, the pre-filter can shift or restrict airflow, reducing suction and letting dust bypass filtration toward the motor. A fresh screen restores correct filter support and the proper seal the U5298 was built around.
