Product details

Part 93002100 is the bottom seal for the Hoover U5507 upright - the soft moulding that closes the joint at the underside of the machine so air goes only where it is meant to.

Seals harden. Heat from the motor and years of compression take the give out of the material, it takes a permanent set, and the surfaces it once closed no longer meet. Air then leaks in below instead of being drawn through the nozzle. You feel it as pickup that has quietly gone soft: the machine sounds normal, the filters are clean, the bin is empty, and it still will not pull grit out of carpet the way it used to.

Wipe the sealing face clean before fitting the new seal. Old grit trapped underneath will hold it off the surface and undo the whole job.
