On Hoover commercial machines, the park switch senses when the unit is set into its upright resting position and adjusts operation accordingly. When this switch fails, the machine may keep the brush running while parked — chewing a bald spot into the carpet — or refuse to run at all. This sealed switch and holder assembly replaces both the sensing switch and its mounting bracket in one piece, and the sealed design keeps dust and moisture away from the contacts for a longer service life.
