Genuine Hoover WindTunnel PD flat belt (Part #38528035), the wider version, supplied as a direct replacement for Hoover part numbers 40201170 and 40201271. This flat rubber belt drives the brush roll on Hoover WindTunnel PD (power drive) uprights, spinning the agitator that beats dirt and pet hair from carpet for the airflow to capture.
The wider belt profile spreads the drive load for steadier grip and longer life. Like all flat belts it stretches and hardens with use, so a worn belt slips and slows the brush, cutting deep-cleaning power, while a broken one stops agitation entirely. A fresh belt restores full brush-roll speed.
