Carpet Pro Hose Guide Magne...

Product details

Carpet Pro fits a small magnet into the hose guide on its upright vacuums, part B480-9500, and this listing is for that magnet on its own. The guide clips the folded stretch hose to the body when it is not in use, and this magnet is what makes that clip snap shut with a positive hold instead of depending on friction alone to keep the hose from sagging loose.

Two separate wear paths tend to take a magnet like this out of service. Age can break down whatever adhesive originally bonded it inside the guide cavity, letting it fall free entirely, or years of being snapped against a mating surface every time the hose goes up can chip the magnet's face and dull its pull well before it falls out. Either way, the result at the machine is the same: the hose stops staying parked, sags against the body, and starts dragging across the floor or snagging on table legs and doorframes as you clean.

Buying just the magnet, rather than a full guide, is the cheaper repair whenever the guide housing itself is undamaged. No model list is published against this part, and guide cavities are not standard across upright designs, so hold the magnet against the cavity in your own guide before ordering, or take the worn one out and bring it along for comparison.

  • Part number: B480-9500
  • Component: hose guide magnet
  • What ships: magnet only, guide housing not included
  • Sold: each

If your guide bonds the magnet with adhesive rather than a mechanical retainer, use a bonding agent rated for that plastic rather than a generic all-purpose glue, since the wrong adhesive can fail sooner under the repeated impact this joint sees. Installation is a matter of seating the new magnet into the cavity the same way the old one sat, then confirming the hose snaps in and holds before returning the machine to use.
