Product details
The jack shaft, part 1610501, is the drive component in the Bissell 1548 Steam Vac that carries power from the motor across to the brush roll.
A shaft that has worn through or snapped leaves the brush roll turning weakly or not spinning at all, while carpet agitation disappears even though the motor keeps running as it should. That split, a machine that sounds and pulls just as it always did but stops scrubbing, is the usual sign the fault is in the drive rather than the motor. Clear the brush roll of wrapped hair and thread first, since a roller jammed solid produces the same complaint for a far cheaper fix.
- Part: 1610501, jack shaft
- Fits: Bissell 1548, 1548F, 1548L, 1550, 1550F, 1550G, 1550L, 1550V, 1551, 1964, 1986, 2007, 2283, 20073, 20074, 20076, 20078, 20079
- Also listed for: Sanitaire Commercial machines and Bissell's BigGreen Commercial line
- Sign of wear: a brush roll that turns slowly, unevenly, or not at all while the motor runs
Match your model number to the list above before ordering, since this shaft is listed for those machines and not for the rest of the range. Keep the old shaft to hand when you fit the new one so you can compare the two before the machine goes back together.
