    XV10SW is the on/off power switch for the Johnny Vac XV10 and XV10 Plus canister vacuums. It sits between the power cord and the motor, so every start and stop of the vacuum passes through this one switch.

    A switch that has seen years of daily use tends to fail gradually rather than all at once. Watch for a canister that takes a firm push or several tries to start, one that shuts off on its own during use, or a button that feels loose or spongy compared to when it was new. All three point to worn internal contacts inside the switch.
