This genuine OEM base unit for the Kenmore 21814 power nozzle is the lower housing that forms the structural platform for the brush roll, belt, and motor. It holds those components in alignment so the nozzle drives the brush roll correctly across the carpet.
A cracked or damaged base lets the brush roll and belt fall out of alignment, which causes belt slippage and poor cleaning. Replacing the base restores the rigid, correctly spaced foundation the power nozzle needs to run cleanly and cut carpet effectively.
