Product details
The receptacle assembly on a Kenmore canister vacuum is the electrical socket built into the body where the hose's power-nozzle plug connects. Two contact pins carry current out through the hose to the motor that spins the brush roll at the floor, separate from the airflow path.
This is part number KC90EEEYZV06, a 2-wire receptacle listed for the Kenmore 81214 and BC4002. When a power nozzle starts cutting out mid-room, refuses to start even with the hose seated firmly, or only runs if you wiggle the plug, a worn or corroded receptacle is one of the most common causes. Before ordering, unplug the vacuum and look at the pins: green or black residue, visible pitting, or a loose fit in the socket all point to the receptacle rather than the hose or the nozzle motor itself.
Receptacle wear is gradual. The pins carry the same current every time the hose is plugged in, and repeated insertion cycles slowly widen the contact points until the fit loosens even before corrosion sets in. A receptacle that used to click firmly and now accepts the plug loosely is worth replacing before it fails outright mid-clean.
- Part: KC90EEEYZV06, 2-wire receptacle assembly
- Fits: Kenmore 81214, Kenmore BC4002
- Function: carries power from the canister body to the hose-mounted power nozzle
- Before servicing: disconnect the vacuum from the wall outlet
It installs into the existing mounting point as a direct swap. This is the 2-wire version, so match the wire count on your current receptacle before ordering rather than assuming every Kenmore canister wires the same way.
