This genuine OEM Kenmore handle retention clip (part 21814) locks the handle securely to the body of the Kenmore 21814 and 81714. It holds the joint tight so the handle stays fixed while you push, pull, and steer.
A cracked or missing clip lets the handle work loose, introducing play that makes the vacuum harder to control and stresses the surrounding housing. Fitting the correct clip re-secures the handle and returns solid, predictable handling.
