The wand, part 561094105, is the rigid tube that links the body of the Kenmore DS4090 stick vacuum to the floor head. It carries the machine's full airflow and sets its working length, so it has to be both straight and airtight to do its job.
Wands get stood on, dropped, and levered sideways when the head catches under furniture. A bend, a split at the joint or a worn locking catch shows up as a head that keeps twisting loose, a rattle at the connection, or suction that has quietly fallen away at the floor while the motor sounds no different at all.
This wand fits the Kenmore DS4090. Slide it in until the catch engages, since a joint that only half-seats will leak air.
