Part 600189A is a set of ten fasteners sized for the joint between the bearing plate and the motor housing on Kirby uprights. Keeping that joint snug is what lets the fan and brush drive spin true, so a stripped or backed-out screw there is a running-clearance problem rather than a cosmetic one.
Every time the machine is opened up for belt work, brush maintenance or fan service, these fasteners come out and go back in, and each cycle is another chance to round off a head, cross a thread, or leave a screw sitting slightly proud without noticing at the time.
