The bracket cam assembly is the linkage that turns a press of the pedal into engaging or releasing Kirby's Tech-Drive. Part 557689A supplies that bracket together with the neutral/drive pedal, so the moving parts of the control arrive as a matched set.
When the cam wears or the pedal cracks at its pivot, the drive stops responding predictably. It stays in neutral however firmly you press, or refuses to release back to neutral so the machine creeps when you want it standing still, or the pedal simply flops loose underfoot. A new assembly restores a clean, positive change between neutral and drive.
It covers the Kirby range from Generation 3 through Avalir 2: Generation 3, G4, G5, G6, Ultimate G, Diamond Edition, Sentria, Sentria II, Avalir, Avalir 2 and Avalir Platinum.
