This genuine OEM two-speed switch and circuit board (Part #632703S) is made for the Kirby DIAMOND EDITION. The switch controls on/off power and speed selection, routing current to the motor at the setting you choose.
A failing switch can leave the vacuum unable to start, shut off on its own, or stick in the on position, and speed selection may stop responding. These faults make the machine unreliable and unsafe to leave running. A correct replacement restores dependable on/off and speed control.
