Kirby cord set 192014 is the 32-foot, 120-volt power cord used from the Sentria forward, listed for the Sentria and Sentria II as well as the Avalir, Avalir 2 and Avalir Platinum. It is the dark gray cord supplied with its retaining clip.
Cords fail at the two ends. At the plug, the wire flexes every time the lead is pulled from a socket instead of the plug body, and the insulation splits behind the molding. At the machine end, the strain relief works loose and the cord starts making and breaking contact, so the vacuum cuts out when the handle is rocked and comes back on when it is nudged.
Any exposed conductor means the cord is finished. Thirty-two feet is the full factory length, so you keep the original reach across a room.
