Product details
The field coil is the wound stator surrounding the armature in a Kirby motor, and part 103989 replaces it. When a field coil opens up or shorts, the motor will not start, starts only sometimes, or runs weakly with the smell of hot varnish about it, and unlike a jammed brush roll or a broken belt there is nothing visible from the outside to explain it.
This is a deep repair. Reaching the coil means opening the motor, and the work is best handed to someone who services Kirbys regularly. It is worth doing on these machines, though, because a Kirby is built to be rebuilt rather than replaced.
It fits the Kirby Generation 3, G4, G5, G Six, Ultimate G, Diamond Edition, Sentria, Sentria II, Avalir, Avalir 2 and Avalir Platinum.
