Kirby finished the Classic Omega in rosewood, and part 173373S is the matching handle grip assembly for it, the grip at the top of the handle on the 1CB.
Original grips on these machines are decades old now. The finish crazes, the material hardens and goes brittle, and a grip that has spent years in a hot attic or a damp basement will crack straight through the first time somebody lifts the machine by it. That is where all the weight goes when a Kirby is carried upstairs, so a split grip is worth replacing rather than taping.
