This Kirby lock ring and bearing retainer (Part #101076A) is sold ten to a pack and fits the Kirby Classic III 2CB. The ring seats against the motor bearing to hold it square and keep it from drifting under vibration.
A missing or distorted retainer lets the bearing shift, which shows up as added noise, play in the shaft, or premature bearing wear.
