This genuine OEM Kirby motor seal (Part #600389S) maintains suction by sealing the air path around the motor so nothing bypasses the filtration system. It fits a wide span of Kirby uprights from the Gen 3 through the current AVALIR line.
A worn or hardened motor seal lets air slip past the motor instead of moving through the filter, which quietly cuts cleaning efficiency and filtration alike. Since the seal is easy to overlook, it is best replaced during any motor service. A fresh seal restores an airtight fit and full suction.
