This is the axle for the Rug Renovator brush roll on older Kirby uprights, part 306187, the shaft the shampoo brush turns on, roughly 12.5 inches long. It is sold on its own, so it is the fix when the roll itself is still sound but the shaft is not.
Axles wear at the bearing surfaces and can bend if the attachment takes a hard knock. The brush then runs off-centre, chatters against the tray, or seizes at one end and stops turning altogether. Rust is the other common ending for a part that spends its working life inside a wet attachment.
It fits the Kirby D50 and D80, the Dual Sanitronic 50 and 80, the Classic I CR, Classic Omega 1CB and Classic III 2CB, the Tradition 3CB, the Heritage I and Heritage II, and the Legend and Legend II.
