Two screws for the Kirby G-3 latch plate, ordered as part 233797A and listed for the SENTRIA.
The latch plate holds the machine's mating sections together, and it is only as good as the pair of screws behind it. When one strips out, the plate pivots on the survivor: the latch stops closing squarely, the joint develops play, and the two halves knock against each other while the machine works. With the load shared between just two fasteners, a single failure is enough to make the whole latch feel unreliable.
Replace both together rather than one at a time. A fresh screw beside a worn one clamps unevenly and tends to work loose again within a few uses. Each threads into the original bore, so the plate seats exactly where it always did with no modification to the machine.
