The Rug Renovator's shampoo tank on Kirby's older uprights is part 306784S. It is the reservoir that holds the cleaning solution and feeds the attachment below it, and it is one of the pieces most often missing when one of these kits turns up second-hand.
Age is the enemy here. Decades-old tank plastic goes brittle and splits at the seams, caps stop sealing, and dried solution narrows the outlet until the feed is uneven. What you see on the carpet is solution pooling beside the machine rather than going into the pile where it belongs.
This tank fits the Kirby D50 and D80, the Classic I CR, Classic Omega 1CB and Classic III 2CB, the Tradition 3CB, the Heritage I and Heritage II, and the Legend and Legend II.
