Product details
Kirby's nozzle latch relies on one small piece of spring steel for its snap, and this is it: part 121297S, the genuine Kirby nozzle lock spring used on the classic uprights from the 516 through the Heritage. Within that run it serves the 516, 517, 518 and 519, the 560, 561 and 562, the Dual Sanitronic 50 and 80, and the Classic 1CR, Classic Omega 1CB and Classic III 2CB.
A stretched or broken spring shows up as a latch with no bite. The cleaning head stops locking home with a firm click, creeps loose mid-pass, or lets go entirely when you tip the machine back. A rattle at the front of a Kirby that used to run tight is the same spring giving notice.
Because it is the factory part, the tension is Kirby's own — fit it and the latch grips the way it did new, with no bending to shape.
