This 12-inch straight handle tube (Part #170058) is part of the handle assembly on vintage Kirby uprights, connecting the upper grip to the main body. It fits a wide span of models from the 505 through the D80.
A handle tube has to stay straight and dent-free for the handle to feel solid, and a bent tube makes the vacuum awkward to push while stressing the handle fork. Replacing a damaged tube restores a firm, straight handle and takes the strain off surrounding parts. It is a core repair for any of these older machines with a bent or dented handle.
