The Kenmore latch hood (Part #KC01DDDUZM0K) is a replacement cover latch for canister models 116.23109900C, 116.23109904C, 116.23108901C, 116.23109903C, 116.23108900C, 116.23110801C, 116.23109902C, 116.23108902C, 116.23109901C, and 116.23110800C. It locks the hood over the bag chamber so the housing holds its airflow seal.

Over time the latch can crack or wear until it no longer catches, and the hood begins lifting during use. An open hood breaks the sealed path, drops suction, and exposes the bag and filter to debris. A correct replacement returns a firm, positive catch and a properly closed housing.
