Being the standard grade, this is the roller most LW30 machines run day to day, which also means it accumulates the most hours and reaches the end of its life first. Bristles that have flattened over months of runtime work the floor less evenly and leave more behind than they did when new, with nothing else on the machine having changed.

The wear is gradual, and that is what makes it easy to miss. Performance drops a little at a time rather than failing outright, and the standard you are judging against slides down with it.
