MD's deluxe dusting brush, part 403, is the untreated white version of the soft-bristle duster in its accessory line. MD publishes the head as an oval 3-1/2 inches wide with bristles about 1-1/2 inches long, and lists the work it is meant for: vacuuming dust out of sills, drapes, blinds, audio and video components and ceiling corners.
Soft bristles do the work here rather than suction alone. The brush lifts dust off the surface as it passes, and the vacuum draws the loosened dust away through the hose, which is why a duster suits surfaces a bare nozzle or a stiff brush would scratch.
