Eight-inch Medi-Filter cartridge for the Filter Queen Defender, part 5404011300. The cartridge is the Defender's primary filtration media — rated to capture 99.99% of airborne particles down to 0.1 microns — and every cubic foot of air the unit moves passes through it.
That media loads up. As trapped dust fills the pleats, airflow through the cartridge falls, the unit gets noticeably louder for less air moved, and the volume of air actually cleaned per hour drops well below what the Defender is capable of. A cartridge that has gone grey across the whole pleat pack is overdue.
It fits the Filter Queen Defender 360 and the Defender AM4000. Slide it squarely into its housing so it seats all the way round — a cartridge sitting proud lets air slip past the media instead of through it.
