Steel sole plate for 6000-series Symmetry household uprights, ordered as D015-0800. The base plate is the bottom pan of the cleaning head: it sets the nozzle opening over the carpet, carries the front wheels and clips, and holds the brushroll in its bearings at the correct height.
A metal plate matters more than it sounds. Plastic pans warp with heat and pressure and the nozzle opening slowly loses its shape, which shows up as uneven pickup across the width of the head. Steel keeps the opening flat and the brushroll parallel to the floor.
