A replacement micro switch for the Bissell PROlite Cyclonic upright, part 2032191, covering the 17G5 and the 17G5-2. It is the small sealed switch in the power circuit, the component that closes when you work the control and tells the motor to run.
Switch failure looks exactly like a dead vacuum, which is why people replace motors they did not need to. The clues are a machine that starts only when the control is pressed hard or held at an angle, one that cuts out when the handle moves, or one that has simply stopped responding while the cord and the outlet both test fine.
Unplug the machine before opening the housing, and note which spade terminal each wire came off before pulling them. The switch is a direct replacement and needs no modification to fit.
